Career Development & Future Goals
1
Professional Development Plan (Next 1–2 Years)
Over the next one to two years, my primary focus is to continue building both clinical and professional experience in preparation for veterinary school. I plan to remain actively involved in a veterinary clinical setting, where I can strengthen my technical skills and gain further exposure to medical decision-making. At the same time, I intend to stay connected to shelter medicine through volunteer work, collaboration with local shelters, or participation in community outreach programs.
I also plan to continue engaging with current research and best practices in shelter medicine, particularly in areas related to population management and behavioral welfare. This will ensure that I remain informed and prepared to apply evidence-based approaches as I advance in my career.

Certifications, Leadership Goals, and Areas of Specialization
In the future, I am interested in pursuing additional training and certifications related to shelter medicine and high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter (HQHVSN) programs. I also aim to develop leadership skills that will allow me to take on more active roles in shelter operations, program development, or community outreach initiatives.
My primary area of interest remains shelter medicine, with a specific focus on population management, behavioral welfare, and strategies to reduce overcrowding. I am particularly interested in approaches that balance animal welfare with practical, resource-conscious solutions that can be implemented in a variety of shelter settings, including rural communities.
